Our Mission
In the first edition of this conference, Harvard Pakistan Forum (HPF) concentrated on the Pakistan of the Future covering three crucial facets of Pakistan’s economy: public policy, international investment in the private sector and financial sector support. Given the conference's success, with upwards of 250 attendees, we look forward to cementing HPF as a lasting edifice.
Building on our inaugural conference, we seek to take a step back and reevaluate our understanding of Pakistan's past, its present, and its potential future. We invite students, academics, practitioners and community members to reassess their assumptions about about our young country, and help us in our endeavor of ‘Rediscovering a Nation’.
The core of our conference is the coming together of all individuals interested in Pakistan’s future. HPF will facilitate interaction at every level of the conference by providing a platform for discussion between attendees, panelists and keynote speakers. The conference will use ‘Unity, Faith, and Discipline’ as guiding principles to direct discussion and debate. These principles will be used as lenses to distill a cogent narrative from the diverse backgrounds and conceptions that our panelists and attendees will bring to the forum. Any undertaking of rebuilding requires not only a strong foundation, but also an optimistic attitude. Therefore we are committed to the facilitation of constructive discourse, and we hope to engender a positive problem-solving attitude among all present.
We are eager to make a lasting impact. Our vision for HPF extends to an annual gathering where the discussion and ensuing narrative are constantly augmented. We look forward to welcoming you to Harvard and sharing with you our passion for Pakistan.
